A real regatta means old boats, like they used to make ’em. Foxy's and the West End Yacht Club have been doing this gig for well over 30 years — 34 to be exact. And this year, we’ve added a new Classic Race for fiberglass boats over thirty years old.

Back in 1974, Foxy and some friends decided wooden boats should have a chance to race. The first year there were only seven boats, but as word traveled, sailors from all over the seven seas flocked to participate.

As the wooden boat era is slowly diminishing, Foxy and friends have decided to keep the legacy going; so they are revising the rules to allow some of the first fiberglass boats to compete in a Classic Race. Fiberglass boats over thirty years old qualify. This first Classic Race should be, no pun on words, a "classic."

Be at Foxy’s Beach Bar to send them off. . . party while the crews are racing (and you’re smart enough to be by the bar), and welcome them back for the continuing party.

Non stop live music with a slew of musical choices. Xtreme Band kicks off the party on Friday. On Saturday, Awesome Crew takes the stage. And Sunday afternoon brings Joe Colpitt and Friends. Take one of the many ferries over to Jost Van Dyke or anchor in Great Harbour for the weekend. Landlubbers can even find a room on JVD or sleep on the beach! Any which way, one small bar . . . one great weekend party at Foxy’s.

ANY WOODEN BOAT IS ELIGIBLE TO RACE IN THE WOODEN BOAT RACE.

WE ALSO RECENTLY ADDED A NEW “CLASSICS” RACE FOR BOATS BUILT OF ANY MATERIAL, DESIGNED THIRTY OR MORE YEARS AGO.

Take a look at the action from last year’s Regatta.
